Services
For more than 42 years, Zeonics Systech Defence & Aerospace Engineers has served as a trusted technical partner to India’s most demanding defence and research institutions — from DRDO and ISRO to BARC and premier IITs. Operating from our Bengaluru facility since 1981, we combine deep domain knowledge of high voltage engineering and pulse power physics with in-house design, prototyping, and testing capability. Where most suppliers provide off-the-shelf components, we provide end-to-end technical engagement: from early-stage design consultation and system architecture review through to custom product development, MIL-STD compliance verification, and collaborative R&D. Our engineers work directly with programme managers and technical leads at defence laboratories, research institutions, and industrial OEMs to deliver solutions that perform reliably in the most demanding electromagnetic environments.
High Voltage & Pulse Power Engineering Consultancy
High-voltage system design is an inherently interdisciplinary challenge — combining electrical insulation, electromagnetic pulse theory, switching physics, and power electronics in ways that are rarely taught in standard engineering curricula. Zeonics Systech’s Bengaluru engineering team offers hands-on consultancy to defence laboratories, IIT research groups, and industrial OEMs who require authoritative technical guidance early in the system development lifecycle.
Our consultants have direct experience in pulse forming network (PFN) analysis, Marx generator topology selection, pulse transformer core and insulation specification, and directed energy system architecture reviews. We engage at the requirements stage — helping clients avoid costly design iterations later — and provide structured deliverables that can be passed directly to procurement or development teams.
Whether you are designing a pulsed power test rig, specifying an HV power modulator for a research programme, or seeking an independent technical review of an existing system, Zeonics Systech brings 42 years of high voltage field experience to your project.
- System architecture review report and recommendations
- PFN, Marx generator or resonant-charge topology analysis
- Pulse transformer specification (core material, turns ratio, insulation class)
- Insulation coordination and creepage/clearance guidance to relevant standards
- Bill of materials (BOM) guidance for non-standard HV components
- Prototype and bench design review with written findings

Custom High Voltage Product Development
Standard catalogue components rarely satisfy the voltage, current, or physical envelope requirements of advanced defence and research systems. For programmes requiring custom high voltage capacitor banks, non-standard pulse transformers, purpose-built spark gaps, or HV connectors specified to unusual voltage and current ratings, Zeonics Systech provides end-to-end product development from concept through to tested, deliverable hardware.
Our development process follows a structured sequence: technical requirements capture, schematic and mechanical design, component sourcing from qualified HV suppliers, prototype fabrication in our Bengaluru facility, electrical test and characterisation, and formal acceptance documentation. This managed workflow maintains quality and traceability at every stage — important for defence-grade deliverables that must perform reliably across service life.
Typical turnaround from requirements sign-off to first prototype is eight to sixteen weeks depending on complexity; small production runs and repeat orders can be accommodated. Common applications include pulsed power systems, NEMP/HEMP protection hardware, high voltage test equipment, and directed energy subsystems.
- Custom pulse transformer design and fabrication (any turns ratio, insulation class, or core geometry)
- Non-standard capacitor bank assembly (up to multi-kJ energy storage)
- Bespoke spark gap switches (triggered or self-break, pressurised or open-air)
- High voltage cable assemblies and custom HV connectors to unusual voltage/current specifications
- Prototype fabrication with formal electrical test report
- Small-batch and repeat-order production with full traceability

High Voltage Testing & MIL-STD Compliance Verification
Ensuring that a high voltage component or system meets its specification — and the relevant MIL-STD or IEC test standard — requires calibrated instrumentation, documented test procedures, and engineers who understand both the hardware and the standard being applied. Zeonics Systech’s Bengaluru facility houses HV test equipment capable of withstand testing, partial discharge measurement, and impulse testing per IEC 60060, allowing customers to submit components for independent evaluation without requiring in-house test infrastructure.
For NEMP and HEMP protection hardware, our team conducts filter validation testing referenced to MIL-STD-188-125-1, providing the performance documentation that defence procurement programmes increasingly demand. We also support EMC pre-compliance testing referenced to MIL-STD-461, helping development teams identify and resolve emissions and immunity issues before formal qualification testing.
Our test reports follow structured, defence-appropriate documentation standards. Customers across India are welcome to consign components to our Bengaluru laboratory for scheduled evaluation; remote project support and site visits can also be arranged.
- HV dielectric withstand and insulation resistance testing
- Partial discharge measurement per IEC 60270
- Full-wave and chopped impulse testing per IEC 60060
- NEMP/HEMP filter insertion loss verification per MIL-STD-188-125-1
- EMC pre-compliance screening per MIL-STD-461 (conducted emissions & susceptibility)
- Structured test report with calibration traceability documentation

R&D Collaboration & Prototype Development
Directed energy systems, high-power microwave sources, plasma physics experiments, and novel pulsed power architectures all require access to specialised engineering expertise and prototype fabrication capability that most academic and defence institutions cannot maintain in-house. Zeonics Systech, a DSIR-recognised R&D organisation, is structured to support joint development programmes with defence laboratories, academic research groups, and government-funded technology initiatives.
We work with partner institutions — typically DRDO laboratories, ISRO centres, and IIT research groups — on a project basis: conducting feasibility studies, contributing detailed design and analysis, fabricating prototype hardware, and supporting iterative test-evaluate-improve cycles. Our Bengaluru engineering team brings hands-on experience in Marx generator development, capacitor bank design for pulsed power applications, and high-voltage switching physics — areas where practical knowledge complements theoretical research.
Collaboration arrangements are flexible: from short-duration feasibility studies and technology assessments to multi-year joint development agreements. Intellectual property arrangements and publication rights are agreed at project outset.
- Feasibility study and technical risk assessment for novel HV/pulse power applications
- Prototype pulsed power system design and fabrication
- Marx generator and capacitor bank development for directed energy applications
- High-power microwave and directed energy prototype subsystem support
- Joint evaluation and iterative design improvement across multiple test cycles
- Technology transfer documentation and engineering training for partner teams
